Chinle High School had the highest enrollment among Apache County schools, welcoming 956 students during the 2024-25 academic year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 54.7% were boys, and 45.3% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were Indian, accounting for 99.1% of Chinle High School’s total enrollment.

Among the 37 schools in Apache County, Window Rock High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 547 students, while Round Valley Elementary School welcomed 536 students and ranked third in the 2024-25 school year.

Chinle High School is part of Chinle Unified District, which roughly covers schools within Apache County and has a main office in Chinle.

In the previous school year, Chinle High School also had the highest number of students among Apache County schools.

Arizona ranks dead last in educational success among U.S. states, according to World Population Review, which graded states based on K–12 performance, funding, higher education, and safety.
