Navajo County property owners who are widows, widowers, disabled individuals, or senior citizens with fixed or limited incomes may be eligible for property tax exemptions and reductions. The application period for these benefits runs from January 1 to February 28, 2026.
The Navajo County Assessor’s Office will accept applications from qualifying individuals and non-profit organizations during this time. Eligibility is based on criteria that include income and property value limitations. First-time applicants must appear in person to sign the necessary documents in front of an Assessor’s Office staff member.
“We want to make this process as accessible and convenient as possible, so we have employees at the Holbrook office Monday through Friday, Tuesdays in Show Low, and the 2nd Tuesday monthly in Heber/Overgaard and Winslow,” according to the press release.
Applicants can submit their forms at several locations: the Assessor’s Office at the Navajo County Complex in Holbrook on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; at the Show Low office on Tuesdays; or at Heber or Winslow offices on the second Tuesday of each month. Additionally, staff will be available at area senior centers throughout February on scheduled dates.
Those who have previously received an exemption will receive renewal documents by mail. Renewing applicants need to sign and return the blue form sent to their last known address.
Property owners over age 65 are encouraged to apply for the Senior Property Valuation Freeze during this period. Information about this program can be mailed or emailed upon request.
For questions regarding eligibility or application requirements, residents can contact the Assessor’s staff by phone at (928) 524-4086 during business hours or by email.
