Tribal gaming revenues total $29 million in 2020 thus far

The newest tribal gaming revenue figures for the fiscal year 2020 have been released by the Arizona Department of Gaming. 

Tribal gaming revenue thus far in 2020 adds up to $29 million, Carolina Oppleman of the Arizona Department of Gaming said, according to KJZZ. Compared to last year’s figures, this year’s have made a large increase in revenue so far. 

The revenue collected is 8 percent higher than last year’s revenue at the same time, Oppleman said. She said the growth in revenue is credited to the growing state economy. 

The revenue of tribal gaming contributes to the Arizona Benefits Fund for the state’s second quarter of the fiscal year 2020, Oppleman said in a press release on the Arizona Department of Gaming’s website

“The gaming partnership between the state of Arizona and Arizona’s tribes funds critical programs that improve Arizonans' quality of life, like education, trauma and emergency services, wildlife conservation, tourism,” Oppleman told KJZZ.
