Property owners won't necessarily see tax increases if Eastern Arizona College (EAC) gets a 6% budget increase for the next fiscal year, according to Eastern Arizona Courier.
A property owner of a $100,000 house would be paying $23 less next fiscal year than this year, which is about $312.20. With a 6% increase, the college would have an additional $389,159 in revenue for their budget, Eastern Arizona Courier reported.
While a homeowner would be paying less, the growth in Graham County would account for the college receiving more budget money.
“Because the assessed property evaluation has increased, we can reduce the primary property tax and at the same time generate more revenue, which is great for the college and great for the community,” EAC spokesman Kris McBride told Eastern Arizona Courier.
