Gov. Doug Ducey is putting $10 million of CARES Act fund toward assisting Arizona small business owners with rent and mortgage payments that have had to pause their business operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Aug. 13, Ducey said he would be directing the funds toward small businesses, NFIB reported.
“The program will provide grants for up to two months of rent and mortgage payments due by small businesses," Lauren Bouton, Ducey's stakeholder engagement director, told NFIB. "The maximum award will be $25,000. Grants will be prioritized for businesses that are most in need of the funding to meet their rent or mortgage obligations and do not have access to other financial support.”
The application process will open on Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. Grants will cover up to two months of rent for small businesses. Businesses with 50 or fewer employees will be prioritized in the application process and those without other financial support options.
