Nineteen organizations statewide have received a total of $715,000 from the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund to help families in need, according to a news release from Gov. Doug Ducey's office.
Ducey established the fund in March as part of the Arizona Together Initiative. It was established to help address community needs due to the coronavirus pandemic, the news release stated.
“Organizations across the state have worked tirelessly to make sure Arizonans are kept safe and healthy,” Ducey said in the news release. “From providing hot meals to housing assistance, education support and much more, our communities have come together to help one another during the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund, and to the organizations and volunteers who continue to support Arizonans in need.”
Salvation Army, Jewish Family & Children's Services Phoenix, Southwest Human Development and Helping Hands for Freedom were among the organizations that received funding through the relief fund, according to the news release.
