In cooperation with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) aims to certify approximately 5,000 students by June 2022 in careers related to cloud computing.
AWS is working with schools around the state to enable AWS Academy and AWS Educate programs in order to integrate cloud computing with classroom education, according to an ACA news release.
Sandra Watson, ACA President and CEO, said that the state continues to prioritize closing the skills gap in order to ensure the best future for Arizona’s students.
“We’re also grateful to the Arizona schools that have signed on to offer these programs and look forward to continuing to add new educational partners,” Watson said in the release.
Gov. Doug Ducey the collaboration will help provide workers with the education and skills they need to fill jobs.
“We’re happy to work with AWS on this initiative that will complement Arizona’s efforts to build and train the workforce of the future," Ducey said.
