Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
We urge our community members to protect themselves and others by getting vaccinated against COVID-19, wearing masks and social distancing. Projected surges going into the fall and winter are a concern to all healthcare systems and have already begun to strain facilities with increased hospitalizations.
Roughly, 97% of new hospitalizations and 99.5% of deaths in the US are among unvaccinated individuals. Available vaccines are proven to be safe and effective. Protect those you love and get vaccinated.
