Diné College to hold 2020-2021 Annual Board Meeting

Diné College issued the following announcement on Sept. 28.

Diné College will be holding their annual board meeting on October 6, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tsaile Campus. The 2020-2021 annual report theme is “T’áá hó ájít’éego: Striving, Adapting, and Advancing”.

The theme T’áá hó ájít’éego: Striving, Adapting, and Advancing was developed from the annual report planning group which is made up of college faculty and staff. Members shared their experiences and perspectives of how the last 12 months have been for the College. In doing so, a commonality was how the College navigated the pandemic despite the many obstacles and yet was still able to achieve many milestones and accomplishments.

Diné College is a tribally controlled College, chartered by the Navajo Nation Government. The Diné College Board of Regent Bylaws requires an Annual Board Meeting the first Wednesday of October. During the Annual Meeting, the Board of Regents and the Administrators share with the stakeholders the accomplishments, financial stability of the institutions, and future plans.

The 2020-2021 annual board meeting will begin with reporting from five committees which include, Academic and Student Success Committee, Finance, Audit, and Investment Committee, Governance Committee, Innovation Committee, and the Fundraising Committee. The Board of Regents meeting will occur following each committee reporting. The annual board meeting will be streamed live on the Diné College Facebook Page. The 2020-2021 annual report includes information regarding fundraising and financial highlights, milestones achieved, media coverage, academics, awards and honors, new projects, and more. Current and past annual reports are available on the Diné College website under the Institutional Planning and Reporting section.

Diné College is a four-year tribal college located on the Navajo reservation with six campuses and two microsites across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah and primarily serves Navajo students. The school offers 20 bachelor degrees, 16 associate degrees, and 6 certificate programs. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college, established in 1968, is the first tribal college and was formerly named Navajo Community College.
