Notice of Community Meeting.

Mic gee3e0d49e 1280

Navajo County issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

Whiteriver area residents, we are hosting a public meeting to receive your input on the upcoming redistricting! In tonight’s meeting, we’ll explain the why behind redistricting, give information on policies, and receive input from residents. This meeting is one of many public meetings held throughout Navajo County! You can log onto our website (navajocountyaz.gov) to learn more.

“Navajo County hereby informs the public that a member of the Navajo County Redistricting Advisory Committee, Cline Griggs, will hold a meeting open to the public on January 6, 2022, for the purpose of seeking public input and comments regarding the County's redistricting of the Supervisorial Districts and Northland Pioneer Community College District precincts. The meeting will be held in Whiteriver, Arizona at the Whiteriver Unified School District Office Training Room located at 963 South Chief Avenue at 6:00 p.m.

The Navajo County Board of Supervisors is required to redistrict every ten years after the release of the decennial census. For this reason, the Board of Supervisors has established a Redistricting Advisory Committee to seek out public input regarding where the new district lines should be drawn, and ultimately to make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors about a redistricting plan for the County. The input of the public is welcomed and strongly encouraged in these efforts.”
