Navajo County issued the following announcement on Mar. 2.
The Navajo County Spelling Bee was held February 16, 2022 at the Snowflake district auditorium. With 20 spellers ready to go (and after an hour of competition) it came down to the final round with the winning word of (*drum roll please*) deserter.
Here are the results:
Champion: Gia Goaziou, Snowflake Jr. High, 7th grade
Runner-Up: Rain Dimaliwat, Blue Ridge Jr. High, 8th grade
3rd Place: Aayden Roland, Winslow Jr. High, 7th grade
The Champion will represent Navajo County in the State Spelling Bee to be held March 19, 2022 in Phoenix, AZ.
