On June 18th, 2002, the Rodeo Fire was ignited and the flames soon ballooned and ravaged the area, threatening lives, homes, and structures. Three days later, the Chediski Fire began burning. The two fires soon combined to create one of Arizona's most devastating wildfires. With over 32,000 evacuees and over 468,000 acres burned, the lasting impacts of the Rodeo-Chediski Fire are still felt to this day.

Sheriff Clouse was honored to join guest speakers Jim Paxton, Chief McCluskey, Judy Palmer, Daryl Seymore, Steve Johnson, and Gary Martinson at the Rodeo-Chediski Fire Remembrance in Overgaard.
