On Friday, June 24, 2022, at 6:00 a.m., the Fire Restrictions been lifted for the unincorporated areas of Apache and Navajo Counties, the City of Show Low, the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside, the towns of Snowflake and Taylor, and the Apache-Sitgreaves Forests.
The White Mountain Fire Coordination Group met on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, to discuss current weather and fire conditions. They determined that recent precipitation conditions and rainfall have allowed restrictions to be lifted for the City of Show Low and surrounding areas. This means citizens are again permitted to participate in previously prohibited activities outlined under the restrictions notice.
The Stage 2 Fire Restrictions enacted in a proclamation by Mayor John Leech Jr. on May 26, 2022, applicable to the City of Show Low, will hereby be terminated, effective June 24, 2022, at 6:00 a.m.
Fire Safety is always a high priority for the City of Show Low. While restrictions are lifted, we ask our citizens and visitors to stay vigilant in helping to prevent forest fires by exercising caution while enjoying recreational activities in our area.
