The City of Show Low is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in serving on the Show Low Aviation Advisory Committee, Board of Adjustment, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Aviation Advisory Committee discusses and makes recommendations to the City Council on aviation issues. Specifically, the Show Low Regional Airport (applicants may include pilots, non-pilots, businesspeople, and citizens, and must reside in Navajo County; the majority of the Committee are required to be Show Low residents).
The Board of Adjustment hears citizens’ appeals regarding zoning and building-related municipal codes. The Board should be comprised of persons familiar with land use, building codes, or technical trades, but any interested person may apply. The members of the Board of Adjustment should reside within the city limits of Show Low.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee considers and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters related to open space, parks, fields, and recreation policies and programs and serves in an advisory capacity to the City’s parks and recreation department and city management. Applicants must reside within the city limits of Show Low.
The Planning and Zoning Commissioners deliberate and make recommendations to the City Council on various planning and zoning issues, including land use, growth and development, and zoning districts. Applicants must reside within the city limits of Show Low.
Applications are available at Show Low City Hall, 180 N. 9th Street, online at www.showlowaz.gov under the “News” icon, or by contacting the city clerk’s office (928) 532-4061. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023.
