Senate pays an average compensation of $43,907 during 2018

The Senate paid an average compensation of $43,907 during 2018, according to data compiled by The Arizona Republic. Arizona public employees as a whole averaged 35 percent more with a compensation of $59,597. Total compensation is made up of an employee's annual salary with the addition of any overtime pay earned throughout the year.

The highest-paid public employee working for the Senate—Wendy Baldo—earned $146,373.

When calculating average compensation, only employees categorized as full time were included.
