Residents of Winslow are facing a 2% hike in their primary property taxes as the City of Winslow recently published a proposed tax increase notice.
According to the notice, the property tax increase proposed is an increase of $8,223, or 2%, which will mean property taxes on a $100,000 home will go from $135.99 to $138.71.
The increase the city is proposing is "exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction," according to the city's notice. The increase also does not include any changes from property tax levies for "voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides," the city posted in its notice.
