Trailer fire in White Mountain Lakes

On September 4, 2022, Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Sunland Lane in White Mountain Lakes for a report of a structure fire.

Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District was on scene when deputies arrived. The structure that caught fire was a fifth-wheel camper trailer parked on the property. The resident of the trailer advised they left the trailer for twenty minutes, when they walked out of the main house, they saw flames coming from the trailer. The fire did not damage any other structures on the property and there were no injuries reported. The trailer was a complete loss.

Timber Mesa advised they did not find any sign of suspicious activity and there was no evidence to show this fire occurred under any suspicious circumstances.

As we enter the winter months, Navajo County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone of the following:

*Make sure you check your smoke detector once a month.

*Equip your trailer with a fire extinguisher.

*Never use the stove/oven as a source of heat.

*Never use an extension cord to power a space heater.

*Equip your trailer with a Carbon Monoxide Smoke Detector.
