How many students were enrolled in Red Mesa Unified District schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 480 students enrolled in Red Mesa Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6.4% more than the 451 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 55.6% of them were boys, and 44.4% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were American Indian or Alaskan Native, representing 97.3% of the Red Mesa Unified District total enrollment.

Red Mesa Unified District roughly covers schools within Apache County and has a main office in Teec Nos Pos.

Among the five schools in Red Mesa Unified District, Red Mesa High School recorded the highest enrollment of 168 students in the 2022-23 school year.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.
