The city’s newest pedestrian underpass at Shea Blvd. and 124th St. is now open to bike riders, pedestrians, and equestrians. The tunnel connects two segments of the Mountain View Trail: the McDowell Sonoran Preserve to the north and the Central Arizona Project Canal in the south. The underpass also provides non-motorized links for surrounding residential neighborhoods, schools, and Stonegate Equestrian Park users to the city’s active transportation network. The tunnel eliminates the need for pedestrian traffic to cross Shea at street level and creates a safer and more attractive way get to the other side. Find out how Scottsdale’s Active Transportation Network connects our community.
