Reopening of our Juvenile Detention center

Open1

Navajo County issued the following announcement on Oct. 6.

They were excited to host an open house for the reopening of our Juvenile Detention center! As of Sunday, October 3rd at 6 pm, our Juvenile Detention center is officially reopened and running. We have opened with added evidence-based practices to help our juveniles succeed including a program called Power Source that will start with the juvenile in detention. Officers will have the opportunity to utilize the Power Source Program to work with the juveniles, and once released their probation officer along with treatment staff will continue the program with the juveniles.

In our Open House, we were able to give county leaders the opportunity to get a hands-on look at our juvenile detention facility. Supervisor Alberto L. Peshlakai, Judge Michala Ruechel, and County Attorney Brad Carlyon were present to tour the facility.

Probation is currently hiring, apply online to be part of making a difference in our communities by investing in our local youth!
