Holbrook, AZ: On February 6, 2023, Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received numerous calls about a vehicle driving the wrong way and running other vehicles off the road on Silver Creek Drive in White Mountain Lake. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. William Allen Maxwell (41) of Show Low, was ultimately arrested and booked into Navajo County Jail for felony charges.

Deputies were given a description of the vehicle and canvassed the Silver Creek Drive area, looking for the vehicle that was reported. The silver vehicle was located traveling at a high rate of speed in a residential area. The Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the suspect fled from law enforcement. While the suspect was fleeing, he hit numerous mailboxes and trashcans. The suspect, William Allen Maxwell (41), eventually ran into a tree, where the impact disabled his vehicle. As Deputies attempted to detain William, he became physically aggressive, and a physical altercation occurred. Deputies were able to take William into custody and transported him to Navajo County Jail. William Maxwell was booked for Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Flight from Law Enforcement, and two counts of Resisting Arrest.
