There were 2,690 Hispanic students enrolled in Navajo County districts in the 2022-23 school year, 7.4% more than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Hispanic students made up 15.4% of the 17,416 students in Navajo County during the 2022-23 school year. They were the third most represented ethnicity.

Among the 11 districts in Navajo County, Winslow Unified District recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 635 students.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in this article are located in cities associated with Navajo County.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. A higher student-to-teacher ratio has been found to negatively impact students' school performance.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.
